Plain Blade
Why does soaking in water make contact lenses feel like glass?
I certainly don't make a habit of this, but once every so often (when I run out of saline) I've had to soak my soft contacts in plain water. The next day they look and feel ok, but when I put them in --- OMG --- they're like razor blades! Why is this?
It's probably the chlorine in the water. I've had to do it when I've run out of solution and was to lazy to go to the store, so I feel your pain.
