@kevkraft I was going to point you to a resource, but without knowing what state your inquiry addresses, I cannot do that? If you don’t find what you need in the state law, you might try contacting the permit issuing agency or someone certified to teach the required course. Otherwise, a lawyer might be a useful resource. I only had a two-hour course and that was at a gun show here in Florida. The class had basic gun safety, the laws in my state and where you can’t carry a concealed weapon. There must have been 50 (or more) people taking the class with me. I mailed my application this week,, I just hope it doesn’t take more than two months.

The minimum in NC is an 8 hour course. I’d say go for it and just know the laws front to back.

Did they address the possession of CANE SWORDS at all? (I’ve been trying to find info on that.) Are permits available for carrying those?

@clickingclock – California is also a “May Issue” state, like New York. If you live in a big city, it’s pretty likely they will deny you a permit unless you can prove that there is a threat to your life. If you live outside the city, the odds of getting one are pretty good if you have a clean record. May Issue is bullshit because it’s up to the department. And they don’t have an obligation to grant a license to anyone.

Wisconsin sucks. Concealed carry is illegal here unless you’re a cop or you’re a retired cop in good standing. You can openly carry here, but the police in Madison and Milwaukee have openly stated that they will arrest you for disorderly conduct or disturbing the peace. It’s bullshit. They were on the verge of passing concealed carry, almost overrode Doyle’s veto, but the override failed. So now we have to wait until there is a non-Democrat in office.

Indiana ccw laws are no classes needed, $47 for a 4 year permit. Im 20 years old and carry a .45 springfield xd compact. Indiana’s law are real easy and layed back.

Armando I felt the same way lol I went to walmart here in Texas and I felt the same way lol and after awhile u get used to it I carry a glock 17 with a shoulder rig but at first I was using a out of waist band holster and I didn’t like cause I use my shirts tucked out and freaking hate that so I got me a shoulder rig I am hoping they pass the open carry in Texas cause I would not have worry about printing
