What Is Lawful / Unlawful Sell And Ownership Of Swords And Knives.?
Ok, after spending most of the morning trying to figure this one out by reading page after page on concealed weapons and lawful knives and weapons, I have managed to totally confuse myself.
Before I started my question seem to be very simple but as I sunk into the bottomless pit of the law it became extremely confusing.
Here is my question if anyone can help with a simplified answer….
If someone has ownership to a historical item such as a sword cane is it illegal to sell or even own? Even if they have managed to unofficially but within good certainty date the item to or around the mid 1800's making it way over 100 years old and a historical antiquity.
Laws I have found only address the description of a weapon/knife and not it's historical value therefore making the sell of which illegal.
I reside in the State of Missouri but I would also like information concerning other states addressing the issue of weapons and their historical antique values in the law.

It is perfectly legal to own a sword regardless of its age. Although a sword cane is a concealed weapon since it is considered an antique it is fine to have too. Now I would not recommend walking around with it. Keep it in the house or keep it in the trunk with the sword part removed from the cane itself when transporting it. That way, it is not concealed If you for some reason get pulled over and they see it, politely explain that it is an antique and the circumstances behind it.
