This depends on where you live. For example, the province that I live in, there is no law that determines how old you must be to carry a knife. But almost all stores that carry ANY sort of knife won’t sell to people under the age of 18. And there are no stores that carry automatics. My guess would be that if autos are legal in your state, then it would be no different than carrying a regular folder. But make sure you are within the blade length by-laws as well, if it applies.

If you are found carrying an automatic knife in a county/state/province where such knives are illegal. Then yes, you will probably be charged and fined.
