Are Switchblade Knives Illegal Where You Live? What State/country Do You Live In?

Are all pocketknives that are "concealed" illegal? I'm from N.Y. State.

Pretty much all states have made it illegal to carry a springloaded or gravity knife. Most states also consider any knife over 3" to be carried for the purpose of being used as a weapon.

Most states do however allow for blades under three inches to be carried "concealed" in the pocket - as they are "pocket knives"

When I lived in GA, switchblades were illegal. Pocket knives are okay as long as they’re under 6".

I’m from Quebec, and the law here is pretty ambiguous, but it basically says that you cannot carry any knife whose only purpose is to be used as a weapon. It is okay to carry utility knives as far as I know.

I’ve been told that a switchblade falls into the same category as a handgun in MI. A CCW (concealed weapons permit) is required to buy and carry one.

I have not had the chance to verify this.
