Switchblade knives with blades 2" long or over are not per se illegal, but they cannot be carried on the person or in a vehicle in a public place; you could have it at home, for example. (Pen C 653k.) A stiletto, which usually means a fixed-blade dagger, is not illegal to possess (except in some places like schools or public buildings), but it is illegal to carry it concealed on your person. (Pen C 12020.)
